Edi Rama must resign. Here is a “Decalogue” of his illegal acts

I am here today to ask for the resignation and final removal from any function of Edi Rama, who…

–          Through his unlawful, unconstitutional acts is today the symbol of the abusive power that knows no norm, no moral, legal, or constitutional standard when it comes to enrichment, luxury, or power.

–          Edi Rama is nowadays the only prime minister in Europe and the world that is creating personal ventures worth 420 million EUR robbed to Albanian taxpayers, under contracts he has signed in contrary of the country’s laws on incineration.

–          The enterprise of Edi Rama, i.e., the incinerators in Tirana, Fier, and Elbasan, is the sole enterprise in Europe enjoying full immunity. Its managers and administrators are formally wanted by the police, but de facto nothing from the assets of this company, although under investigation, is seized or confiscated and these people are walking freely and they have also started to exert pressure to drop the charges.

–          Edi Rama is the only prime minister in Europe and the world who has done 137 flights with a charter plane. There is no other prime minister in the world who has had even half of Edi Rama’s trips with charter plane flights. EUR 22 million in travels is an insane, rampant abuse of power. This cost is more than the former dictatorial political bureau has ever incurred in 20 years all together.

–          For all this, the only justification Edi Rama is giving is his complete depersonalization. He tells to the Albanian people that he has spent only ALL 150 per trip, which the “Ismail” Charter of Air Albania has was given to him for promoting the airplane, but he is not revealing that the airplane spends at minimum EUR 150,000 per promotional flight.

–          Edi Rama is a fierce enemy of the free vote of Albanian citizens. While in Dibra in a festive show, he spoke again of vote rigging. Using a festive show to pledge stealing votes means to challenge all Albania citizens who believe in the free vote, mobilizes, and motivates them to give the answer you deserve: the enemy of the free vote.

–          Edi Rama must resign and be brought to justice for all of this, not to forget great affair of Butrint. He dismantled Butrint’s park only for his own and his oligarchs’ interests.

–          Edi Rama must resign immediately, because he has become spokesperson of “Bratja Kalic”, of Kalic brothers of Vucic. In the name of their interests, he is closing down and making bankrupt the entire Albanian beer industry created over the last 30 years, leaving thousands of families’ unemployed, who make their living by working in the various sectors of this industry. He is doing so only for the direct interests of the Open Balkans, for the interests of the Kalic brothers, who are sanctioned under the sanctions imposed against Russia.

–          Edi Rama must resign for the horrible affair of Durres Port that ended again in the hands of a partnership with Alexander Vucic. They are the same people to promise to invest EUR 4 or 12 billion in the Sava Waterfront, but invested only EUR 20 million.

–          Edi Rama must resign because he has turned the state police into an unimaginable gang. One after another, young boys are being killed on the streets of Tirana, and this phenomenon is not happening nowhere else in the world.

For all the above reasons, the Albanian citizens are more determined than ever to show him his well-deserved place, this November. To remove him from power. So once again, I am asking his immediate overthrow and his resignation as the country’s prime minister.

Tirana has degraded. We need change

Unfortunately, over the years, and especially over the last 8 years, Tirana has suffered a severe deformation and has experienced not only a destruction of heritage and identity, but we are also suffering from a significant deterioration of our daily lives as residents of the capital!

There is not a single resident in Tirana who does not suffer today the consequences of the city’s mismanagement!

…from the children, who have been deprived of green areas and playgrounds, to turn them into concrete buildings!

Constructions and concrete casting without meeting any criteria.

Heavy traffic every hour of the day.

The polluted air we breathe every day and the acoustic pollution from the trucks and concrete works that have invaded the city.

Destruction of green areas for the sake of planting concrete!

The environment is polluted and bins are full of trash, while the Municipality is wasting and corruptly paying millions of euros for cleaning and management of waste and incinerators.

Dr. Ilir Alimehmeti is running the PD’ primary for local elections

Our Tirana is sick and in crisis

With my 15-years of experience as a medical doctor and after my training as a clinical epidemiologist in Western Europe, I decided to return to Tirana in 2014 and to put my work and expertise at the service of my community, to its education and recovery, as a health professional and as a lecturer.

I am committed with the same civic conscience, the same values, and the same seriousness, following the example of my parents. I come before you to dedicate myself fully to Tirana, and its community, because, dear friends, our Tirana is sick and in crisis. Tirana, my friends, has all the opportunities to heal and revive. Its values and beauty can be renewed, but this can only happen through working hard and efforts, civic consciousness and the contribution of any of us who have decided to build his/her life in Tirana, me included.

I am standing today as a candidate, to run in the primary elections within the Albanian Democratic Party for the Tirana Municipality. I am putting myself in the service of the community. I am fully confident that the process of the primaries will be fully transparent, credible, and hopeful.

Declaration of Mrs. Lili Sula, Head of DP’s Higher Education, Science, and Innovation Department.

The university in crisis is an undisputable indicator of a state in crisis.

The university lecturers, academic staff, the academic supporting and administrative assistants have been protesting for several weeks now. They are fighting for university autonomy, academic freedom, and support for scientific research.

The university lecturers are protesting, while the head of Government is telling them that their assets will be vetted and audited.

The protest continues, while the head of the Government is exerting pressure on the regional university staff, instead of apologizing. He is retaliating to turn the regional universities to branches, at best, or shut them down at worst, for they are supporting the protest.

The protest continues. It is supported by students, while the head of the Government is making up surreal situations. He is threatening to keep the medical students’ diplomas in his drawer for three years. However, this is not a solution to keep graduates in the country.

…A university in crisis is a direct and undisputable indicator of a state in crisis and the consequences of this situation will be extremely rapid and severe…

Declaration of Mr. Lisander Hoxha, Member of the DP’s National Council

The prime minister raised the price of electrical energy. Illegally

As announced by the Rama Government, the price of electrical energy will increase from November 1.

The procedure through which the price of electrical energy was increase was unlawful and not consulted with stakeholders. Even if the legal procedure was duly followed, the circumstances do not justify its increase.

Based on the data provided by the Democratic Party, during the first 8 months of this year, about 3.79 TW/h was generated by Albanian Electrical Corporation and the regulated market.

On the other hand, the Distribution System Operator sold over this 8-month period to the regulated market about 3.01 TW/h (for the family, private, budget, and non-budget customers). This means that we have produced more energy than the consumers need.

The rise in the price of electricity is not a demand from the lack of production and the price crisis resulting from the war in Ukraine, but is directly caused by the bad management and systematic theft of this sector.

Declaration of Mr. Eno Bozdo, Member of the DP’s Board

EUROSTAT Energy Report: Albania at Record Prices

EUROSTAT’s newly published report on the price of energy for household consumers exposes the lie of Edi Rama: Albania has the highest price of electrical energy in the region, except for Montenegro.

I want to stress the fact that other countries of the region, despite being more exposed to the energy market than Albania, and without domestic productive resources, have lower energy prices.

EUROSTAT statistics do not take into account the increase by more than 4 times of the price of electricity for households exceeding the 800 kWh band per month.

Declaration of the Mr. Ylli Asllani, Secretary for Local Government

SP’s Territorial Reform Failed. Our improving alternative turned over by Government

The DP’s initiative to prepare a draft law improving the territorial and administrative reform was carried out not as a political goal per se, but in respect of the citizens’ expectations to change the catastrophe caused by the 2014 territorial division.

On the eve of the local elections campaign, the DP offered an alternative in the interests of public service, regional development and the country.

We highlight one fact when we say that SP reform failed precisely due to the four main pillars on which it was built:

1.      It failed to increase the economic efficiency of new local government units.

2.      It brought about the centralization of mayors’ power destroying the decentralization and strengthening of local self-government.

3.      It hit the citizens’ representation in co-government, local democracy, and accountability.

4.      It failed to promote economic and social development and alleviate poverty.

Consequences:

•                     Mass depopulation of the country’s territory

•                     Municipalities collapsing and going bankrupt.

•                     Collapse of local democracy, accountability and the rebirth of mass corruption

•                     Financially uncovered public services and far from meeting the citizen and community demands.

•                     Collapse of the Water Supply and Sewerage Service.

•                     Massive corruption in solid waste and urban management

•                     Giving up when facing fires and floods hazards.

•                     Farmers and agro-industrial activities going into bankrupt
