Challenges and global economic-financial processes at the present day require a new public policy to restart the sustainable development of the country. This new policy should be based on structural reforms in order to promote competitiveness. The motto of the Democratic Party over the years has been competitiveness and the promotion of entrepreneurship. The latter throughout every Democratic Party government, thanks to the reduction of bureaucracy, fiscal pressure and corruption by the Democratic Party government, has served as a catalyst for employment and poverty reduction.

The Democratic Party rests on the basic principles of freedom, democracy and human dignity. Accession in the EU is a primary objective that represents the prevailing will of the Albanian people. The strengthening of the strategic partnership with the USA, NATO and the EU, the Euro-Atlantic integration of Kosova, as well as the deepening and expanding of cooperation with other friendly countries represent the axis of our foreign policy. The protection of national interests is at the foundation of the political-diplomatic engagement and commitments of the Democratic Party of Albania.

Our motto is a developed economy of a developed country. The Democratic Party would like our nation to be one of start-up businesses and entrepreneurship. Making Albania the best place to start and grow a business – is one of our main goals. The Democratic Party is the party of low taxes, growth and development. We strongly encourage the use of incentives for labor and high-tech enterprises, as well as assistance through funding for youth and women’s start-ups. We will promote every economic freedom to ensure that businesses in our country can unlock their great potential – so that they can invest, hire, export and grow. We will invest in skills and training, which will ensure businesses can find and hire the workers they need. Good regulation is essential for successful businesses: we will strive to achieve the right regulatory balance between supporting good business practice and protecting workers, consumers and the environment as well.

The DP’s National Program for sports has the mission of reforming and re-configure the organizational and institutional infrastructure and improving the legal framework on which sport is developed. Sport per se – National strategy for sport, for an active Albania, for an energetic nation, for a vital and healthy society. Doubling of the sports budget – Funds for athletes and trainers, champions and record holders, not for the offices and nor to disappear into the pockets of officials.

Culture is the common language that characterizes a society, and includes in addition to arts and letters, the way of life, basic human rights, value systems, traditions and beliefs. This is why our project is cultural and emancipatory, a response to the invisible barriers created by society. Culture and cultural heritage represent the DNA of a nation and in our project they will serve as Albania’s introductory business card.

We are in favor of a Green Albania. Ensuring sustainable development and use of forest and pasture natural resources. Promotion of forest-based bio-economy including ecotourism. Development of professional skills and strengthening of technical managerial capacities. Biodiversity protection, restoration, reforestation and expansion of forests, and protected areas, to reverse the loss of biodiversity and ensure resilient and multifunctional forest ecosystems from the impact of climate change. Financial incentives for forest owners and managers. Strategic monitoring of forests, pastures and biodiversity. A strong research and innovation agenda with a comprehensive and coherent legal framework for the governance of forests, grasslands and biodiversity.
